Four fire appliances were called out when a scrap car lot caught fire in Deal early Saturday morning.

Crews were alerted to the blaze on Willow Road just after 1am and spent three and a half hours tackling the flames.

A number of vehicles were damaged. The cause is not yet known.

Watch manager Craig Sheridan said "It was certainly a big fire when we got there."
