Vishaul Singh cracked an unbeaten 115 as Sandwich overcame closest rivals Whitstable by two wickets to take second spot in Shepherd Neame Kent League Division 1.

Craig Spanton took 3-40 as the visitors were restricted to 183-8 before Singh steered his side home with an over and two wickets remaining.

Kevin Beaumont smashed 70 not out but Sandwich 2nds fell to a five-wicket defeat at leaders Whitstable in Division 1.

The visitors made 171-5 from their 50 overs before the home side cruised home with almost five overs to spare.
