Wine Bar, Le Pinardier, has been fundraising for Breast Cancer Now throughout the past year.
The High Street venue, formerly known as Borough Wines, started its support of the charity on April when owners Benoit Dezecot and Sarah Ross began their women only monthly meetings over six months.
Local artists and musicians supported their Christmas party where like the regular meetings, female only speakers gave talks.
Kerry Rubins, ambassador for Breast Cancer Now, was the first guest speaker along with Chantele Rashbrook, who has suffered with the condition and raised huge amounts of money organising the Clifftop Challenge in 2014 and 2015.
Since then there has been Swishing events (clothes swapping), tastings from the Black Pig Butchers in St George’s Passage, and three raffles have been held with amazing prizes donated by local businesses.
Sarah Ross of Le Pinardier, said: “A big thank you to all the businesses that donated and the artists who supported the events. We’ve raised a staggering £1130.90.
“We chose Breast Cancer Now because people close to us have been affected by breast cancer and its a charity that’s close to our hearts.”
Kerry Rubins said: “On behalf of the charity, and along with Chantele Rashbrook, it’s been a real pleasure seeing Sarah having these events.
“We’re really pleased with the amount they have raised for the charity.”
•Le Pinardier will hold the following events in the coming days: Dave Ferra (Blues) on Christmas Eve, South Deal School of Disco on Boxing Day, Rob Lurft and Nicola Palmer on New Year’s Eve and Dolly Doowop’s Dance Club in the evening of New Year’s Day.
