Air ambulance transports woman to hospital after e-bike accident in Gram’s Road, Walmer

A woman has been airlifted to hospital after being injured in an accident on her electric bike.

The air ambulance landed in a field in Walmer on Friday before joining police and paramedics at the scene.

Police were called to Gram’s Road at around 3.30pm to reports of a woman having fallen from an electric cargo bike.

It is not thought that any other vehicles were involved in the accident.

After an examination at the scene, the woman was airlifted to a local hospital for treatment.

On Friday, residents' concerns grew as the air ambulance was spotted circling before landing in the field opposite Liverpool Road.

A police spokesman has now confirmed that the cyclist's injuries are not believed to be serious.
