A woman is calling for police action since her car was smeared with dog's mess after she’d failed to clean up after a pet she was in charge of.
Elise Paterson, 73, from Deal, was looking after her friend’s cocker spaniels when vandals struck.
She had just parked her car by the public toilets in Granville Road, Walmer, when she claims one of the spaniels went to the toilet on nearby shingle.
She says it was too runny to scoop up in a bag, prompting her to leave it for “the rain to wash away”.
But she says an onlooker became abusive towards her.
About half an hour later, Mrs Paterson returned to her car to find it smeared with excrement.
She said: “It was shocking!
“I know it was her because she was calling after me. She became abusive and said she would take photos.
“She kept shouting that she had seen me arrive and knew which was my car.
“She did a thorough job. It was on the windscreen, the door handle, all the windows and even the inside of the fuel cap flap.”
She described the woman as elderly, in her 70s, with grey hair. She was accompanied by a small terrier type dog and was pushing a dog trolley with a basket and blanket on top.
Ms Paterson added: “It’s difficult because I know what I did wasn’t exactly acceptable but I couldn’t have picked it up. It was too runny.
“But her behaviour is unacceptable!”
Mrs Paterson was forced to take her car to be washed at the nearby Esso garage in Dover Road following last Monday's incident.
She says the dog has since been diagnosed and treated for colitis.
She has reported the incident to police and is asking them to investigate.
A spokesman said: "Kent Police has received a report of criminal damage to a car near the public toilets in Walmer, between 12pm and 1pm on Monday 5 February 2018.
