Leaders Dover suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at struggling Worcester in Blue Square South on Saturday.
Boss Andy Hessenthaler had warned his players ahead of the game that it would be a tricky encounter and they needed to put in a professional performance.
And that turned out to be the case as the home side ended up being good value for their victory.
The only goal of the game came after 33 minutes from a Mark Clyde header.
Danny Walder skied a clearance and although Whites keeper Lee Hook punched the ball, he was unable to get back into his goal and the ball was lobbed over him and nodded in by Clyde.
Olly Schulz cleared the ball off the line in the second half to prevent Dover going further behind, while Frannie Collin (pictured) almost snatched a point at the death for the visitors with a shot that went narrowly wide.
