London, Melbourne, Sierra Leone and even Deal is staging a Zero Carbon World Concert next month in a series of performances to mark the next UN climate summit.

The green group Deal With It has joined forces with the Astor Community Theatre in Deal, Smugglers Records and other environmental campaigners to stage the event.

Deal With It co-ordinator Rosemary Rechter said: "The Zero Carbon World Concert is a series of concerts taking place worldwide on the weekend of November 27 and 28 just before the next UN climate summit begins in Mexico on November 29.

"The event will show the politicians negotiating in Mexico that it is possible to have a zero carbon world. The intention is have fun while minimising the amount of carbon.

"There is an impressive list of events and concerts around the world - ending with our own in Deal."
