KENT'S international golfer Karen Stupples has given birth to her first child.

The 33-year-old former Women’s British Open champion from Deal gave birth to an 8lb 5oz boy, named Logan James, in Orlando, Florida, where she now lives with her American partner and caddie Bobbie Inman.

Karen’s father, Alan, who lives in James Hall Gardens, Walmer, said: “The baby was actually born while I was flying to Orlando, and it was wonderful to step off the plane and be greeted with the news by Bobbie.”

Alan, whose wife Eileen was present at the birth, having flown to the States earlier said: "Karen and the baby are both doing fine and we are all absolutely delighted.”
