Chris Sessegnon is considering offers from other clubs because he doesn’t want to remain a squad player with Dover Athletic.

The 19-year-old right-sided midfielder/full-back signed a new contract last December until the end of next season but mostly found himself on the bench after Chris Kinnear took over from Nicky Forster as manager a month later.

Sessegnon didn’t figure at all in the play-off final against Salisbury and he admitted: “I got a bit upset that I wasn’t even on the bench.”

Sessegnon took part in one of last week’s training sessions but wasn’t one of the 22 players involved in the Dagenham game.

He added: “I have had interest from other clubs and it might be time for me to move on if we can sort out the contract situation.

"It’s nothing against the club or the supporters but when you get a change of manager, you get a change of football philosophy and he brings in his own players, which is fair enough. “But I don’t want to be just a squad player.”

Boss Kinnear said: “We’ll just have to see how it pans out with Chris but he lives in Putney and doesn’t drive so that makes it difficult.”
