DEAL'S Mark Belsham produced an excellent performance in difficult conditions to win the Kent Professional Golfers' Association Assistants tournament at Walmer & Kingsdown GC.
Belsham came out on top with a superb three-under-par score of 69. Paul Page, from the Wildernesse GC in Sevenoaks, was runner-up with a level par 72.
Michael Brooks, from Royal St George’s, and Simon Page from Prince's, shared third place after rounds of 76.
W&K assistant professional Jude Read, who organised the event, said: “The course was in fantasic condition but we had very strong winds which made the course play much longer than usual.
“Trying to make any swing to hit the ball was very difficult against the wind, but somehow some of the guys posted very good scores.”
Meanwhile, young Lloyd Stevenson enjoyed a special moment at Walmer & Kingsdown Golf Club last Saturday when he scored a hole-in-one.
The 13-year-old Dover Grammar School pupil, from Kingsdown, “aced” the par-three 4th hole using a three wood.
The Walmer & Kingsdown junior member, who plays off a 21 handicap, scored his first hole-in-one while playing with friends.
