TOMMY Sampson is determined to enjoy his return to Deal Town on Saturday.
The man who led Deal to their FA Vase triumph in 2000 returns to the Charles Ground as manager of Sussex County League outfit Redhill for a Vase 2nd qualifying round tie.
And Sampson has persuaded the Football Association to send the actual Vase trophy down to the ground with a courier, to add to the occasion.
He said: “The FA realise that this is a special day both for me and for Deal, and I am hoping that six or seven of the Wembley-winning team will also be there on Saturday.
“It’s going to bring back a lot of great memories for me and the players, but first and foremost I am now manager of Redhill with a cup tie to win on Saturday.”
