KENT golfer Karen Stupples continued her strong start to the LPGA Tour season with another impressive performance in Hawaii at the weekend.
After finishing joint 16th in the opening event of the season the previous week, which was also in Hawaii, the 34-year-old from Deal finished joint fifth in the Fields Open at the Olinga Golf Club after recording a three-round 11-under-par par total of 205, five shots behind the winner, American Paula Creamer.
Stupples, who only played seven times on the LPGA Tour last year due to the birth of her first child, earned $49,107 to take her winnings for the first two tournaments of the season past the $60,000 mark.
Her father Alan said: "That means she is already two thirds of the way to earning her playing card for next season which, after hardly playing last year, is a big relief and she is delighted with the way she is hitting the ball."
