Dover Athletic boss Chris Kinnear hopes winger Ricky Modeste will feature in a near-full strength squad for the FA Cup first round clash at Corby Town on Saturday.
The wideman suffered a hamstring strain against Oxford City on October 26 and would have missed Tuesday’s game against Eastleigh, had it not been called off due to a waterlogged pitch at Crabble.
Whites boss Kinnear said: “There’s a good possibility that Ricky might play on Saturday.”
The other beneficiary of the Eastleigh postponement was Whites’ left-back Tom Wynter, who would have been short on sleep after his partner gave birth to a baby boy in the early hours of Tuesday.
Kinnear was able to arrange a training session on the 3G all-weather pitch at Faversham’s Abbey School on Tuesday in place of the Eastleigh game.
Dover’s tie at Corby will be refereed by 35-year-old mother-of-two Amy Fearn, from Staffordshire, who becomes the first woman to take charge of a match in the first round proper of the FA Cup.
Meanwhile Whites central defender Sean Raggett, 19, has been rewarded for his solid performances after breaking into the first-team this season with a new contract to the end of the 2014/15 season.
