Karen Stupples' run of high finishes on the US Women's golf tour came to an end in the McDonalds LPGA Championship at Bulle Rock, Maryland - the second women's major championship of the year.

The Deal professional had recorded five top-15 finishes in a row but a poor third round, when she recorded four-over-par 76, ended her chances of troubling the leaders in the final round.

Stupples fired a level par 72 in Sunday's final round to finish tied 58th on one-over-par 289, 13 shots behind the winner, Yani Tseng from Taiwan.

But she remains the top British player on the LPGA money list with winnings so far this season of $378.342.
