Ten-man Dover Athletic suffered their fourth-straight defeat in Skrill South and slipped to 15th in the table with Tuesday night’s 1-0 reverse at Sutton.

On his first start of the campaign, Moses Ademola was sent-off for two cautions, the first for kicking the ball into the net after the whistle had gone in the opening half, before controversially being adjudged to have dived to win a free-kick 18 minutes from time, with Dover already chasing the game.

Whites’ woes infront of goal continued as they recorded their third blank in their last four league matches - all of them defeats.

The only goal arrived after just 18 minutes when Dean McDonald, who was on trial at Crabble in the summer, capitalised when Dover failed to clear their lines, allowing him time and space to slot past Mitch Walker.

Shortly before the interval Sean Raggett teed-up Nathan Elder in the area, only for his shot on the turn to be held by Sutton keeper Tom Lovelock.

Lovelock was beaten by Ademola shortly after the break but a defender was able to clear off the line, with Raggett’s goalbound follow-up also blocked.

Ademola’s night was cut short when he received a second-yellow from referee Nigel Lugg for a supposed dive on 72 minutes after going down in a heap under a challenge from Jamie Stuart, a decision Dover boss Chris Kinnear claimed was 'ridiculous.'

With a man advantage the hosts dominated the closing stages, with Walker saves denying Craig Dundas and Mitchell Nelson while in stoppage-time Raggett superbly cleared a Marvin Williams shot off the line.
