Dover Athletic go into their final league game of the season at Bromley on Saturday with a worry over Tyrone Sterling.

The centre-half (pictured), who has proved highly dependable since joining Whites soon after Chris Kinnear’s arrival at Crabble in January, took a blow on the foot at Staines on Tuesday which left him limping after the game.

Kinnear said: "It was quite a nasty tackle and Tyrone was limping when he got off the coach after the trip home.

"But, knowing the sort of boy he is, Tyrone will want to play if it’s at all possible on Saturday and hopefully he will be ok."

Kinnear is already without Steve Thomson and Lloyd Harrington, who both start three-match suspensions at the weekend and will, therefore, miss the play-off semi-finals.

On the plus side, midfielder Dean Rance will return to the squad at Bromley after completing his suspension.

Kinnear added: "We know Bromley won’t be easy because they are one of those teams who, on their day, can beat anybody. They won’t be under any pressure now they are safe from relegation.

"It’s also a bit of a local derby but we will be going there looking to win."

Meanwhile, midfielder Barry Cogan underwent an operation to have a pin inserted in his damaged shoulder on Monday.

Kinnear said: "Apparently the operation went well and Barry should be fully right for next season, which is good news."
