PAUL WRATTEN, from Maidstone, won the inaugural Deal Open darts tournament at the Mill Inn.
With a luxury weekend break and £400 prize money on offer, the event attracted not only the best local players but many top stars from around the county.
Fourteen-year-old Ross Smith (Mill Inn) showed his potential, reaching the last eight before losing 4-1 to county player Bob Linton from Ashford. Smith also hit the highest checkout of the day - 155.
Deal League press officer Andy Cotton said: “The day proved to be a great success and plans are already in place to make the tournament an annual event.
“The day was rounded off by an exhibition by professional Wayne Mardle, this year’s World Matchplay finalist.
He is a flamboyant character on the circuit and provided an entertaining evening while using some unconventional methods of playing and finishing a game of darts."
