Dover mayor Sue Jones celebrates International Women’s Day

Dover's mayor will look back at the achievements of women in the past century as part of her backing for International Women’s Day.

Cllr Sue Jones is hosting an evening to raise a glass to female successes.

It takes place on Saturday at the Dover Town Council chamber at Maison Dieu House from 6.30-8.30pm.

Guests will be musically entertained with refreshments and they will learn more from an expert speaker.

Tickets cost £5 – if possible, please book in advance.

Any proceeds of the night will support the mayor’s charities, the Alzheimer’s Society and the Dover Outreach Centre.

The 2019 #BalanceforBetter campaign runs all year long. It doesn't end on International Women's Day.

The campaign theme provides a unified direction to guide and galvanize continuous collective action, with #BalanceforBetter activity reinforced and amplified all year.

Deal Town Council will celebrate the scheme on Friday too with a talk by mindset coach Nike Lawal at the Deal Town Hall at 7pm.
