More than 100 cannabis plants have been seized by police after officers executed a warrant at a residence in Dover.
The mature plants were found by officers from the community policing team who attended a property in Tower Court, Tower Hamlets on Friday (December 12).
They seized a significant quantity of growing and dried cannabis under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
Police received information that cannabis was being grown in a three storey terraced house and when they attended, they found every room in the property was being used to grow or dry cannabis. They also confiscated a quantity of high value cultivation equipment from the house.
Constable Matthew Hawkes of the Dover Community Safety Unit said: “Some of the plants were up to three feet tall and obviously ready to be harvested. The amount of cannabis found in the property also indicates that the plants were grown with the sole intention of distributing drugs on the street.
“Drugs ruin lives so we are committed to disrupting this type of crime. We are currently following up lines of enquiry to identify those responsible and I would appeal to anybody who knows anything about this cultivation to come forward.”
Anyone with information about where drugs are being produced or sold is asked to contact police on 101. Alternatively, to remain anonymous, call Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
