The radio debate programme Any Questions? will be broadcast form Dover Castle.

And it will happen on March 29, the originally-planned Brexit day.

Organisers warn that only a handful of tickets remains for local residents to join the audience.

This edition of the BBC Radio 4 programme will be broadcast live from the Great Tower from 8pm until 8.50pm.

Audience members need to turn up for the recording by 6.30pm.

The panel will include the constitutional expert and crossbench peer Lord Hennessy.

The stations's flagship political panel show is transmitted live from different locations each week.

Like the television version Question Time personalities such as politicians and writers answer and discuss questions from the audience.

The radio show, chaired by Jonathan Dimbleby, has up to 1.5 million listeners every week and was first broadcast in October 1948.

Jonathan's brother David Dimbleby presented Question Time from 1994 until last December.

Becky Smith, Dover Castle’s Operations Manager, said:“It is an honour to be hosting Any Questions live at Dover Castle next week, and we are excited to be able to welcome residents to come along."

Officially, at present, Britain is to leave the European Union at 11pm on Friday, March 29.

But even today Prime Minister Theresa May has gone to Brussels to ask for a delayed leaving date as British MPs twice voted against her withdrawal agreement.

That postponement has to be agreed by all the remaining 27 member countries.
