POLICE are appealing for information about the last hours of a Dover woman whose body was found floating in the harbour early on Sunday.

She has been named as Gillian Marsh, 58, who lived at Astley Avenue. She was born in Dover as Gillian Corey in May 1945.

Just before 10am on Sunday, people walking on the Prince of Wales Pier noticed the body in the water, and raised the alarm.

Dover lifeboat, with cox'n Dave Pascall and six crew on board, was launched and they used their inflatable boat to recover the body which was identified by her husband, Robert Marsh.
