A man has been arrested following a suspected stabbing in Biggin Street, Dover

A man has been taken into custody following a suspected town centre stabbing.

Police were called at 12.30am today to reports that a man had been assaulted outside an address in Biggin Street.

It was reported that he sustained injuries consistent with stab wounds.

Officers and paramedics attended and the victim was airlifted to a London hospital, where police say he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Inquiries at the scene led to the arrest of a 23-year-old man, believed to be known to the victim, shortly afterwards.

He remains in custody while inquiries are ongoing.
