Association cements link with ferry

A PRESENTATION has taken place to mark the link between the new cross-Channel ferry Pride of Kent and the Association of Men of Kent and Kentish Men.

During the ship’s maiden voyage, Captain David Miller, the senior master, exchanged a framed photograph of the new ship for a plaque from Keith Sharp, the association’s chairman.

The association, which exists to promote a sense of pride in the county of Kent and to protect its heritage, has adopted the latest addition to P&O Ferries’ Dover-Calais fleet and a number of its senior officials were on the first sailing.

Capt Miller said: “We are very proud to have forged a strong bond with the Association of Men of Kent and Kentish Men and look forward to carrying its members on their future cross-Channel trips."
