Blockade ends but delays go on

THE two-day hold-up in lorry traffic at the port of Dover, caused by the ferry blockade in France, was lifted this morning but tailbacks have continued to cause delays.
Operation Stack had been introduced because the problems across the Channel. There was traffic chaos on the M20 between Folkestone and Hythe.
Today ferry services were gradually returning to normal but it was anticipated that it would take several hours to clear the M20 of heavy traffic.
Last night Eurotunnel ran seven trains an hour - a record - to help clear the backlog of several hundred lorries.
