A man's body has been recovered from a railway line at Dover.

British Transport Police were called to the line at Buckland junction, below Bunkers Hill, just after 10pm on Wednesday.

Power was switched off and the body was recovered. It had been hit by a train.

Train services to Dover were disrupted for more than four hours while investigations took place.

An inquest is to be opened on Thursday.
