Cement spillage now cleared on A2 between Denton and Aylesham near Dover

Part of the A2 has now reopened after bags of cement were spilled on the road.

The westbound carriageway was closed for several hours near Dover due to the spillage.

A van carrying a trailer lost its load of cement bags at around 9.30am.

Specialist clearance teams were drafted in to help clear the carriageway, which was closed between the A260 junctions near Denton and Aylesham.

Diversions were in place via the A260 junctions, and motorists were being warned to allow more time for their journeys expect delays.

The road reopened shortly before 3pm.
