Debut day for biggest cross-Channel ferry

THE largest cross-Channel ferry ever to operate on the Dover to Calais route is due to make its first commercial crossing tomorrow (Thursday). SeaFrance Rodin arrived in Dover last Friday to be greeted by other ships including the Dover Harbour Board tugs spraying water into the air.
With a service speed of up to 25 knots, Rodin can make the crossing from Dover to Calais in approximately one hour.
At 185 metres long, 28 metres wide and 32,000 gross tonnes, it can carry up to 1,900 passengers, 120 lorries or 700 cars.
