Demolition work on Burlington House is making good progress with the final tenant moving out of the complex last week.

Invest in Dover has been keeping residents updated with pictures and snippets from the preparation of the St James’s Development. A spokesman for Dover District Council said: “There is lots of on-site activity as the demolition of Burlington House complex gathers pace.

“There is currently work on putting hoardings up along the site.”

Work is being carried out on demolishing the car park, cordoning off the County Hotel and preparing Dover’s biggest eyesore for demolition – which is expected to be completed this winter.

As part of this, Dover Eurochange, established in 1992, has moved its premises from the Burlington House complex, near the harbour, to 122 Snargate Street, for business, including bureau de change, discount ferry tickets and luggage storage.
