A man has been arrested after a car crashed on a main road.

The vehicle had hit railings and a post on the A20 Townwall Street, Dover, close to the junction with Woolcomber Street, at about 6.20am today .

The road was partially blocked and then closed for about 15 minutes while the vehicle was recovered. It was clear by 8.40am.

No other vehicles had been involved and a police spokesman said: “Kent Police were called to a report that a car had been involved in a collision with roadside furniture.

“A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and remains in custody.”
