Two men convicted of plotting to rob and murder Kent singer Joss Stone have today won appeals against their sentences.

Judges have reduced Kevin Liverpool's minimum life sentence term from 10 years and eight months to six-and-a-half years.

Junior Bradshaw's 18-year sentence has also been cut to 10 years at the Court of Appeal in London.

The pair, from Manchester, were arrested near the Dover-born singer's home in Devon in June 2011.

Police found weapons in their car as well as balaclavas and bin bags.

They also found hand-written notes describing 27-year-old Miss Stone as a "she-devil" and talked about a plot to find her, chop her head off and find a river in which to dump her body.

Miss Stone was born at the Buckland Hospital, in Dover, lived in Albert Road and went to St Mary's Primary School in the town.

She became a household name a decade ago with songs Fell In Love With A Boy and Super Duper Love.
