Dover residents handed fines for littering and dog fouling at Canterbury Magistrates

Three Dover residents have been handed fines for littering and failure to remove dog fouling.

Gabriela Bledyova, 34, of Wyndham Road, Dover, was found guilty of failure to remove dog faeces.

Her case, along with two others, was heard at Canterbury Magistrates on May 20.

A Dover District Council environmental enforcement officer saw her dog fouling on a footpath and then enter a property at St David’s Avenue on December 11, 2013.

The owner was identified and issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice which she failed to pay.

In her absence at Magistrates she was fined £100, a £20 victim surcharge and costs of £150.

Kirsty Beer, 33, of Wyndham Road, Dover, pleaded guilty by post to an offence of depositing litter.

Miss Beer discarded a cigarette on Pencester Road on November 21, 2013, which was seen by an DDC environmental enforcement officer.

She was ordered to pay a Fixed Penalty Notice and when she failed to pay the council took her to court.

Magistrates imposed a fine of £100 and a £20 victim surcharge as well as £150 in costs.

In a second case, Stephen James, 45, of Maison Dieu Road, also pleaded guilty to littering.

An environmental officer saw Mr James discarding a foil top milkshake bottle on Biggin Street on October 18, 2013, but he refused to pay the Fixed Penalty Notice.

He was fined £100 for the offence and another £100 for providing false or inaccurate details along with a £20 victim surcharge.

He was also ordered to pay costs of £150.
