A man and woman have been jailed after robbing their victim’s Fiat 500 and speeding down the motorway.

Jade Cosier took advantage of her victim, who she knew, and entered his home in Tower Hamlets, Dover, on April 16.

The 28-year-old asked to borrow money when she and the man in his 60s went to a cashpoint to make a withdrawal.

When they returned, 24-year-old Erik Horvath and two 17-year-old boys - who can not be named for legal reasons - were at the property.

It is believed they entered through a door Cosier left unlocked.

The group demanded his car keys and took off with them and his bank card in his Fiat 500.

Police were alerted to the theft and the vehicle was spotted by a patrol driving well over the speed limit London bound on the M2.

The car was boxed in and stopped before Horvath, Cosier, and the two teenagers were arrested.

Cosier, of Sunshine Corner Avenue, Aylesham, was charged with and admitted robbery and dangerous driving.

She was given a two-year and four-month sentence at Canterbury Crown Court on November 7.

Horvath, formerly of King Street, Dover, admitted robbery and was jailed for three years and four months.

One of the teens involved was previously given a Youth Rehabilitation Order for his role and the other is to be sentenced at a later date.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Charlotte Tracey said: “These four people took advantage of a man who was known to Cosier and had even offered to help her earlier that day.

“They put him in fear of violence and Cosier then endangered road users with the manner and speed of her driving.

“I am pleased they were quickly arrested and charged and these two offenders have now been jailed, meaning they are no longer a danger to the people of Dover.”
