Duo who 'robbed a man' in Dover town centre to remain in custody until court appearance

Two males accused of assaulting a man in a town centre before stealing his wallet will remain in custody until their next court appearance.
Harry Lugg, 22, of Stembrook Court, Dover , and Lewis McCartney, 18, of Rochester Street, Chatham , have both been charged with one count of robbery and one count of fraud.
It comes after officers were called to an incident in Dover town centre shortly before 12.30am on Thursday, September 24 2020.
It was reported that a man had been assaulted by a group of men in Cannon Street and had his wallet stolen.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with a facial injury and has since been discharged.
An investigation by Kent Police's Chief Constable's Crime Squad followed and the two men were charged with robbery and fraud.
The fraud charges relate to the alleged use of a stolen bank card at a petrol station on the same day as the alleged robbery.
They appeared before Medway Magistrates' Court on Thursday, October 1 and Friday, October 2, and have been remanded in custody to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, November 2 2020.
