Elderly man dies after house blaze

AN investigation is taking place into the cause of a fire that killed an 85-year-old man in Dover.

Firefighters rescued the man from a house in Ottawa Crescent on Monday and he was taken to Kent and Canterbury Hospital with 50 per cent burns to his arms and neck.

However, on Tuesday police confirmed he had died.

Firefighters from Dover Fire Station will now visit residents in the area to carry out home fire safety checks and offer fire safety advice.
