Dover and Deal’s MP, Charlie Elphicke, has been made Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to Iain Duncan Smith.

It is part of Prime Minister David Cameron’s cabinet reshuffle, where the new selection of private secretaries was announced on Tuesday.

His new role is in the department for work and pensions.

Mr Elphicke was PPS to the Minister for Europe, David Lidington before his new appointment.

Celebrating the news, Mr Elphicke tweeted: “Was fantastic to work @foreignoffice as PPS to @DLidington and looking forward to working as PPS to @DWPgovuk Secretary Iain Duncan Smith MP.”
