Firefighters have warned people against leaving rubbish next to buildings after a pile of waste was set alight last night (Friday).
One crew was called to Pencester Road in Dover to a rubbish blaze at 12.30am.
It took around 15 minutes, using a hose reel, to put the fire out and make sure the area was safe.
Joe Bathurst, crew manager for the green watch said: "This is the perfect time to remind people not to leave large amounts of rubbish near windows or exits."
He explained that all exists should be left clear in case there is a fire and people need to escape.
Mr Bathurst added: "The danger of leaving rubbish against buildings is if it does catch fire it can set buildings on fire very easily."
