Dover attack sees police cordon set up near St Mary's Church in Cannon Street

Forensics officers are at the scene of an early-morning attack which has left a man in hospital.

A cordon has been set up in Cannon Street, Dover, following the reported assault shortly before 2.40am.

Police were called to the scene near St Mary's Church by paramedics.

A 25-year-old man has been taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and is currently in custody.
