Two vanloads of supplies will today be delivered to help surviving victims of the Grenfell Tower disaster.

The food and drinks, toiletries, baby wipes, nappies, towels of blankets, from Dover, is for those left homeless and destitute by the blaze in north Kensington, London.

The supplies where gathered after a call for help by Nathaniel Richards, a councillor and boss of the social supermarket Nifties in Dover High Street.

A total 30 people were confirmed dead by today (Friday) after the flames engulfed the 24-storey block just before 1am on Wednesday .

Emergency services fear that the death toll will rise sharply as more bodies are found as all the flats are searched.

An estimated 74 people were taken to hospital and occupants of 127 one and two-bedroomed flats are now homeless.

Aid has been brought in from all over the country.

Nathaniel Richards set up Nifties last year to provide cut-price food for poorer families.

It was first based at the Charlton Shopping Centre and on June 1 moved a few hundred yards, directly onto Dover High Street.

Last month Cllr Richards was elected as a Labour councillor to the Buckland ward in a Dover district by-election.
