A former drummer with the legendary rock band AC/DC is due to play at a Kent venue to help raise funds to keep it going.

Chris Slade will appear at The Booking Hall in Dover from 7pm on Saturday, September 25.

Slade was AC/DC's drummer from 1989 to 1994 and 2015 to 2016.

He has also played for other acts including Manfred Mann's Earth Band, Uriah Heep, The Firm, Gary Moore, Gary Numan and David Gilmour of Pink Floyd.

Slade appears in Dover with his own band, The Chris Slade Timeline, and 100% of ticket sales for the show will go directly towards keeping the venue going.

The finances of the Booking Hall, in Elizabeth Street, were hit hard when it had to close during the coronavirus lockdowns.

It was only able to survive via fundraising and government grants.
