A 90-year-old Dover woman lost her wedding ring in the town centre just over a week ago after it had been on her finger for 67 years.

Margaret Hopper, of St Margaret's, visited Marks and Spencer's and Boot's Pharmacy in Biggin Street on May 6.

Mrs Hopper and her granddaughter Mitch.

But it wasn't until the grandmother got home that she realised her ring was gone.

Mrs Hopper was widowed three years ago and is said to be heartbroken after losing the gold band.

Her family believe her recent weight loss led the ring to slip off her finger.

It is described as being very small and simple.

Her granddaughter, Mitch Pugh, who lives in the Cotswolds said: "I'd dearly love to reunite her with the ring which has so many abiding memories for her."

Anyone that finds the ring is asked to call: 07910800255.
