Search helicopter used to help find missing person at Capel-le-Ferne.

A massive land and air search has been carried out to find a missing person.

Land rescuers also combed miles of countryside and a police helicopter joined the hunt.

Rescue services were called to Capel-le-Ferne after that person vanished early today .

Police spokesman Natalie Hardy said on Friday: “Kent Police is assisting in a search for a person from Capel le-Ferne who was reported missing at 6.13am today.

“The search is covering varying areas.”

Kent Police lead the search, assisted by HM Coastguard.

At least one helicopter was seen by residents flying over Capel-le-Ferne.

In addition HM Coastguard sent out three rescue teams, from Dover, Folkestone and Deal, to search the coastguard and inner land from the Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel all the way do Dover.

A spokesman for HM Coastguard said: “We were asked by police to help in the search and used three rescued teams from Folkestone, Deal and Dover.

“We did a coastal and inland search and our teams were stood down at 11am.”

The person being looked for was still missing on this afternoon and enquiries continued to try to locate them.
