A charity group needs help to raise money for its biggest project.

Burgoyne Heights Pre-School in Dover needs £500 for a major outdoor shelter for its children and raised £110 by today (Thursday).

Organisers say it's a way of getting them outside more and helping reduce the risk of spread of coronavirus.

Samantha Heath, child practitioner, said: "Sadly due to Covid all our main efforts have been put on hold meaning we cannot fundraise in the usual manner.

"We heavily rely on our Christmas fetes to help raise much-needed funds for new resources that support the development and learning of the children.

"We desperately need a outdoor shelter so children can enjoy the garden in all weathers, and learn outside more, to also help reduce the transmission of Covid."

The project is specifically for a new gazebo outdoor learning area plus new tarmac flooring with markings and a climbing frame.

The pre-school has been trying to develop this project for two years but was stopped in its tracks by the pandemic.

You can donate on the group's GoFundMe page here.
