Strong winds may lead to delayed ferry sailings from the Port of Dover Saturday night and into Sunday.
The port is already experiencing large volumes of freight traffic.
The conditions in the Channel are described as "moderate to rough" with winds reaching gale force 8. Visibility is moderate.
P&O Ferries tweeted that their latest departure was delayed by 25 minutes due to adverse weather conditions.
Passengers are advised to check in as normal.
A Port of Dover spokesman said: "The port is operating normally. We are experiencing high volumes of freight traffic.
"Passengers are advised to contact their shipping operator for further information, and to consult the Port of Dover website www.doverport.co.uk."
