Emergency services descended on a clifftop after concerns were raised for a man.

Police, paramedics and the coastguard were called to a lighthouse near Dover.

A number of vehicles were pictured near the South Foreland Lighthouse at the top of St Margaret's Bay.

At least five police vehicles could be seen on the clifftop, alongside ambulances.

There were also a number of coastguard and search and rescue vehicles attending the scene.

A police spokesman said: "We were called at around 12.50pm on Thursday 6 October 2022 due to concern for a man near the Crab Bay area of Dover.

"Officers attended along with HM Coastguard and South East Coast Ambulance Service and remain at the scene.

"No criminal offences have been reported and the incident is not currently being treated as suspicious."

A coastguard spokesperson said: "His Majesty’s Coastguard has been assisting with an incident at Langdon Bay in Kent this afternoon (October 6).

"The Coastguard was made aware of the incident at around 1.15pm, and assets including Coastguard Rescue Teams from Folkestone, Deal and Langdon Battery were sent to the scene.

"An RNLI lifeboat from Dover was also sent to the scene. Kent Police and the ambulance service are in attendance."

The man's condition is not yet known.
