Port of Dover unveils White Cliffs Christmas event, formally opening on November 19, with ice rink.

An ice rink will the central attraction in the Port of Dover’s first major Christmas event at its cruise terminal.

It will have festive family activities and workshops and an English-themed Christmas market.

The White Cliffs Christmas event will be officially opened from noon on Saturday, November 19. and Father Christmas and his reindeer will attend.

Children can see him again when he regularly visits the terminal in the run-up to Christmas.
The rink will open to the public shortly before that, from next Monday until January 2.

Booking is needed and opening times are 4pm to 8pm Mondays, to Thursday, 4pm to 9pm Fridays and 10am to 9pm. weekends.

But the rink is closed on November 12 and Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Some dates will have different opening times and these are Sunday, November 13, noon to 9pm: Saturday, December 10, 10am to 5pm: December 17 to 23, 10am to 9pm: Christmas Ev,e 10am to 6pm: December 27 to 30, 10am to 9pm, and New Year’s Eve to January 2, 10am to 6pm.

The market will continue to be open every week, throughout the week, until just before Christmas.

All this happens at Cruise Terminal 1 at former Dover Marine Station at Dover Western Docks.

Visitors can be transported there via a bus shuttle service from Market Square and Dover Priory Station on a return ticket of £3 per person.

This service starts next Monday and continues until New Year’s Day.

They buses will usually run from 4pm to 8pm Mondays to Thursdays, 4pm to 10pm Fridays and Saturdays and 10am to 9pm Sundays. However there are also days with no service, such as Christmas Day and Boxing Day, or changed times.
