A job centre in Dover was evacuated this afternoon after a "suspect package" was seen outside.

The police were called to the building in Maison Dieu Road at 2.40pm.

A spokesman said: "The occupants took the decision to evacuate the building as a precaution. Police attended and the package was found to be harmless.

No hoax calls were made.
