A lorry driver is due in court today in connection with the seizure of approximately 40 kilos of heroin at Dover.

The substance, worth about £2 million, was found hidden in two holdalls on top of the engine block under the driver’s cab.

The driver was interviewed and charged with attempting to smuggle drugs into the UK.

He was due to appear before Folkestone magistrates this morning.
