A man has been arrested after a young boy was bitten by a dog at Kearsney Abbey on Saturday afternoon.
The seven-year-old boy from Ramsgate was treated at the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital at Margate for a cut to his lip, but did not need to be admitted.
It is believed the injury was caused by a Staffordshire bull terrier, and the owner disappeared before police arrived.
Officers went to nearby Scotland Common where they arrested a 29-year-old man from Whitfield on suspicion of allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control in public.
He was released on bail until January 20 and the dog was taken to kennels while police make further enquiries.
