A man has been charged with attempting to import drugs through Dover after heroin was allegedly found in boxes marked bacon.
Philip Tasker, 42, from Southport, Merseyside, was arrested on Friday after being stopped by Border Agency officers at Dover's Eastern Docks.
During a search of the British registered Citroen van officers discovered a number of black taped wrapped packages within boxes marked bacon. The contents of the packages tested positive for heroin.
Tasker has been released on bail and is due to appear at Dover Magistrates Court on Thursday.
