Man quizzed after serious road crash

A MAN is being questioned by police after a serious accident at the Folkestone Road - York Street roundabout in Dover on New Year’s Day (Graham Tutthill writes).

Police, fire and ambulance were called to the scene just before 1pm after a Peugeot car crashed into the roundabout.

When the emergency services arrived they found a rear seat passenger with serious arm injuries. Another passenger was also helped to safety.

Police officers made enquiries about who was driving the vehicle. Later a 25-year-old man was arrested at an address in Dover.

The passenger, a 27-year-old man who lives in Dover, was taken to the Kent and Canterbury Hospital.
